Judge Viktoryia Tkachova of Minsk Tsentralny District Court has sentenced Varvara Krasutskaya, activist of the Belarusian LGBT movement, to a fine of BYR 700,000 on charges of disorderly conduct (Art. 17.1 of the Administrative Code).
The activist was detained last evening in Minsk Kastrychnitskaya Square for wearing a T-shirt “Freedom for Ales Bialiatski”.
MEP Marek Migalski urged the Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, Polish ambassador to Belarus Leszek Szarepka and the administration of Uniwersytet Śląski (Mrs. Krasutskaya studies there) to express their support to the convicted activist.
