Homel region: opposition nominates its representatives to circuit election commissions
Representatives of the
United Civil Party, the Belarusian Popular Front and the “Fair World” were
nominated to circuit election commission sin the Brest region.
The UCP nominated people to the election commissions of Kalinkavichy, Rechytsa and
Svetlahorsk constituencies. “Dzianis Rabianok was nominated to Kalinkavichy constituency
election commission #41, Vasil Hulai – to Rechytsa commission #44 and Tatsiana
Naskova – to Svetlahorsk commission #46,” stated the head of the Homel regional
UCP organization Vasil Paliakou.
According to the first secretary of the Homel regional branch of “Fair World
Uladzimir Siakerka (in the photo), the party member Hanna Zaburunava was
nominated to the Kalinkavichy commission, Uladzimir Shein – to the Rechytsa
commission and Henadz Zhuleha – to the Svetlahorsk commissions. Mr. Siakerka
also pointed out that members of the party participated in the civil campaign “For
Fair Elections”.
As stated by the head of the Homel regional branch of the Belarusian Popular
Front Valery Putsitski, party member Aleh Karbalevich was nominated to the
Rechytsa commission. According a representative of the BPF Board Ales Kalita,
another BPF member, Mikalai Belski, was nominated the Kalinkavichy commission.
According to the law, circuit commissions for elections to the House of
Representatives are formed by regional authorities. Will they include any
opposition activists in the commissions – that is a question. The
oppositionists unanimously state they have no hope for this.
