Issue #73 of the state-owned “Ashanskaya Hazeta” newspaper of 30 June contains an interview with the head of the Orsha City Executive Committee Mikalai Lisouski.

Being asked which workers of the executive committee helped him most in his work, the head of the CEC answered: “I believe that the success of any business depends on the team. Ours is strong and united. The overall result depends on the coordinated work of everyone. I would like to address special words of gratitude to the head of the Orsha City Council Liudmila Dabrynina, who helps in solving many important issues”. However, none of these issues were mentioned in the interview.

The next page of the newspaper is occupied by a large interview with Liudmila Dabrynina by journalist Anastasiya Turak. The whole interview consists of clichés and gives no concrete information about the work of the city council and its head.

In private talks Orsha officials confess that Liudmila Dabrynina has been approved as a pro-governmental candidate to the Chamber of Representatives for the upcoming election. Most probably, this is the reason why the newspaper pays such extraordinary attention to her.
