Viktar Malochka, former Lieutenant Colonel of financial police, keeps appealing his detention by Salihorsk police during a “silent protest” in mid-July 2011.
The detention has previously been appealed with a number of state bodies, including Salihorsk Town Police Department, Salihorsk District Prosecutor’s Office and Minsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office. Viktar Malochka also lodged a lawsuit against local policemen. However, all the appeals were dismissed.
This time, the former police officer is appealing the detention with Prosecutor General’s Office. In his complaint, Mr. Malochka reiterates the facts stated in his previous appeals, urging Prosecutor General Aliaksandr Kaniuk to provide a well-grounded reply on the merit of the case.
