During a court hearing at the Bykhau District Court Aliaksandr Shachanok noticed that his signature under a violation report was forged.

He found about the administrative charges concerning the alleged beating of a neighbor only when he was summonsed to court. The fabricated case fell apart – even the complaint of the alleged victim was absent.

The Bykhau District Procuracy held an examination on Shachanok request and found that the signature under the report and the phrase “Noted down from my words correctly, read aloud” didn’t belong to Aliaksandr Shachanok. However, it was allegedly impossible to find out who had done it, that’s why the procuracy refused to bring a criminal case on the incident. The Investigative Committee of the Bykhau district refused to bring a criminal case too. The Mahiliou Region Procuracy (to which he applied later) forwarded the appeal to the Bykhau District Procuracy, which confirmed its previous decision.

Police officer Vashchyla was judge drawn to disciplinary responsibility for unlawful composition of a violation report and received an oral admonition, which provides the deprival of a wage bonus and a month delay before conferment of a new rank.

Human rights defender Barys Bukhel states that the policemen couldn’t but know the person who had signed the report and says he will continue helping Aliaksandr Shachanok in drawing the police offender to legal account.
