Bartosik and Simbirou detained. Simbirou sentenced to 15 days of arrest
At 1 p.m. near Chaliuskintsau Park people in mufti forcedly pulled
musicians Zmitser Bartosik and Ihar Simbirou into a black Mercedes car.
As Mr. Simbirou managed to tell by the phone, he was being taken to the court
of Minsk district and Zaslauye. According to unconfirmed
information, Zmitser Bartosik was taken to the Pershamaiski District Police
Department of Minsk.
The detained musicians intended to take part in a recording session for Radio
"Liberty".
Bear in mind that in the evening of 6 May Bartosik, Simbirou and 12 listeners
had been detained at a picnic near Minsk.
All of them were videoed and fingerprinted. After this all of them but Simbirou
were let go. The latter was charged with insubordination to police and
disorderly conduct, and kept at the detention center till the trial, which
started the following morning and was subsequently postponed to 18 May.
On 8 May, Ihar Simbirou was taken to the court of the Minsk district. Judge Aliaksei Minich continued the consideration of his case and sentenced the musician to 15 days of arrest.
