The Supreme Court of Belarus found the verdict
delivered against BCD co-chairman Pavel Seviarynets in May 2011 lawful and
fair.
Tatsiana Seviarynets, the mother of the political prisoner, learned this from
his lawyer Vadzim Mushynski.
“We are considering an opportunity of applying to international instances with
the case,” Tatsiana Seviarynets said to the BCD press service in an interview.
We remind that on 16 May judge of the Zavadski District Court of Minsk Zhanna
Brysina sentenced Pavel Seviarynets to three years in an open-type prison
facility for participating in a protest demonstration on 19 December 2010. On
11 August Seviarynets arrived in the village
of Kuplina (the Pruzhany
district), where he serves his sentence.
