Political prisoner Vasil Parfiankou put under preventive surveillance
On 5 January Judge of the Pershamaiski district court of Minsk Siarhei Bandarenka ordered to put Vasil Parfiankou under preventive surveillance for 12 months because the political prisoner “does not mend his ways”.
Bear in mind that Vasil Parfyankou was put on police’s record in the
Pershamaiski District Police Department after his release from a penal colony
in Orsha, where he was serving 4-year sentence for participating in 2010
post-election protests. The report from the police department says Parfiankou
“did not mend his way”, “systematically violates public order and was brought
to administrative responsibility”.
Vasil Parfiankou will face
a number of restrictions. He must appear in a police station for checks four
times a month. He cannot go out from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. except for the time he spends
at work. He is also forbidden to leave the city without permission of the
surveillance body.
The ruling of judge Bandarenka is final and cannot be appealed against.
