Vitsebsk activist of the For Freedom movement Khrystafor Zhaliapau has been detained by road police on his way to a penal colony in Shklou where former presidential candidate Mikalai Statkevich is currently serving his term.
Apart from For Freedom activists the police detained journalist Zmitser Kazakevich, Conservative Christian Party “Belarusian Popular Front” member Yan Dziarzhautsau and Statkevich’s election agent Aliaksei Haurutsikau.
“Mr. Zhaliapau was told a car similar to his had been involved in a road accident on 30 November. We were forced to follow him to the regional road police department”, says Mr. Haurutsikau.
The activists were going to Shklou to learn about the detention conditions of Mikalai Statkevich.
