The draft bill prescribes support of democracy and human rights in our country.
It has been initiated by Chairman of the Helsinki Commission of the U.S. Congress Republican Christopher Smith. The House of Representatives approved the act on July 6, 2011. Now the draft bill should be signed by President of the United States Barack Obama, informs Radio Liberty.
The approved draft bill includes amendments in to the law "Democracy Act in Belarus" -2004.
