Sannikau's counsel banned from meeting his client again
The lawyer planned to visit the
presidential candidate on 8 December.
According to Iryna Khalip, the wife of
the political prisoner, the lawyer left a complaint in the prison’s book of
complaints and filed complaints to the prosecutor’s office of the Vitsebsk
region, the Vitsebsk corrections department, BelaPAN news agency reports.
The latest unsuccessful attempt, unsuccessful, to see Sannikau was made on 23
November.
Khalip noted she filed an appeal to the General Prosecutor’s Office last week
complaining at officers of the corrections department, who deny access to her
husband. “I demanded to open a criminal case against them. The case will be
initiated in any case sooner or later. The complaints will be used as evidence
in the case,” Khalip stressed.
Andrei Sannikau, a presidential candidate in the 2010 elections, is in Vitsba-3
penal colony.
