Syarhei Kavalenka detained in Vitsebsk
Syarhei Kavalenka was traditionally accused by police of swearing.
Syarhei’s wife said her husband had went to a police station for a check (he serves a term of probation at home), “Nasha Niva” newspaper runs.
He was offered to sign a document that forbids Syarhei to go out after 7:30 pm. He refused. As 8:30, policemen visit him at home and took him to a police station. Kavalenka was accused of disorderly conduct – he allegedly swore at a police inspector at a police station.
Syarhei spent the night in the temporary detention facility. He was not taken to court today.
Syarhei Kavalenka is sentenced to three years’ probation without sending him to a penitentiary for hanging out a Belarusian national white-red-white flag on the New Year’s Tree in Vitsebsk on January 7, 2010.
