Valiantsin Stefanovich solicits for postponement of trial
The administrative trial
of human rights defender Valiantsin Stefanovich concerning the exaction of
unpaid taxes was to have started on 15 November at the Partyzanski District
Court of Minsk. However, Valiantsin cannot appear at court that day for family
reasons. That’s why he solicited for postponement of the hearings.
The human rights defender received the lawsuit on 2 November. Valiantsin
Stefanovich stated that the sum of the claim of the tax inspection is 41
million rubles.
On 23 November the Partyzanski District Court will also consider Stefanovich’s
lawsuit against the fine of 4,750,000 rubles, issued to him by the Partyzanski
District Tax Inspection on 19 October for violating Article 13.6 of the Code of
Administrative Offenses (non-payment or incomplete payment of taxes).
