Niakliayeu is warned for People's Assembly
The criminal-executive
inspection of the Leninski District Police Department of Minsk warned the
former presidential candidate, political prisoner Uladzimir Niakliayeu, for
participation in the People's Assembly on 8 October in Minsk.
As said by Mr. Niakliayeu to RFE/RL, on 8 October police visited his apartment
three times in order to find whether he was at home. They brought him a writ
for 12 a.m.
on 10 October.
“They were clearly ordered to use any pretext to add something to my case so
that it would be thick enough when the court will sentence me to imprisonment”,
stated Mr. Niakliayeu.
Bear in mind that on 3 October he received the first warning, for leaving
Belarus without an official permission (he went to Warsaw for 27-30 September).
In May Uladzimir Niakliayeu had been sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment with
a two-year determent. It means that he still lives under a constant control.
His freedom of movement is restricted. In particular, he has to stay at home at
8 p.m. - 6 a.m.
everyday.
