On 30 September, Baranavichy police detained Viktar Meziak, head of the local organizing committee of so called “People’s Assembly”, as he was distributing leaflets advertising the event due on 8 October.
The activist was taken to the police station and charged with violation of procedures for holding mass events.
The trial of Viktar Meziak is expected to be held this afternoon. The trial of another Baranavichy activist detained for distributing People’s Assembly leaflets Viktar Tsiapin has been postponed till 6 October.
