The house of Yury Silkin, an activist of the People’s Assembly organizing committee, was raided yesterday.
As Yury Silkin told Radio Svaboda, policemen were looking for materials with invitations to the People’s Assembly, which is due to be held in Zhodzina on October 8.
Policemen showed a search warrant signed by a prosecutor and said the reason for the search was complaints from people. They said dwellers of the town demand to “seize materials with invitations to the illegal gathering on October 8”.
Police seized Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu’s CDs and independent press from Silkin.
