On 22 September, Judge Maryna Damnenka of Homel Tsentralny District Court sentenced local opposition activist Kanstantsin Zhukouski to 15 days of administrative arrest for alleged usage of foul language and resisting arrest, the BelaPAN news agency reports.
Mr. Zhukouski was detained in downtown Homel last evening. He was reportedly beaten and later taken to hospital.
In court, the activist pledged not guilty.
