Hrodna court upholds verdict to journalist Pachobut

On 20 September, Hrodna Regional Court dismissed an appeal lodged by local journalist Andrei Pachobut against an earlier verdict by Hrodna Leninski District Court, the BelaPAN news agency reports.
On 5 July, reporter of the Polish “Gazeta Wyborcza” newspaper Andrei Pachobut was found guilty of libeling President Lukashenka in a series of articles in the press. As a result of a closed trial, he was sentenced to 3 years of suspended sentence.
