Vitsebsk civil and political activists, human rights
and journalists answered the call of the Human Rights Center Viasna to
send letters of support to Ales Bialiatski. During several days they wrote
about thirty letters on postcards and sent them to the remand prison #1 in
Valadarski Street in Minsk.
The postcard have a somewhat unusual content – each of them contains a line
from the Pahonia poem by the Belarusian poet Maksim Bahdanovich. Thus,
if the censors let through all postcards, the human rights defender will be
able to read the whole text of the poem.
