Zmitser Dashkevich was put in disciplinary cell 8 times
His fiancée Nasta Palazhanka told about the
results of his meeting with his lawyer on 24 August. Before this, the prison
administration five times refused to allow Zmitser meet with the lawyer.
According to Nasta, the meeting took place in presence of an officer of the
prison. That’s why Zmitser didn’t manage to tell about all abuses towards him.
However, he said that the deputy chair of the colony on regime work Aliaksandr
Lapatka made Zmitser stand in the prison corridor all night and then told him
to go to work. When Zmitser refused, he was put in the disciplinary cell.
He also told that the temperature in the disciplinary cell is quite low and he
had to do push-ups for about 30 minutes after an hour of sleep not to freeze.
He also asks to pass him gloves.
Zmitser Dashkevich and his lawyer aren’t given an opportunity to familiarize
wit the reports on the basis of which he is punished, which means they are
unable to appeal against them. Zmitser is also deprived of meetings with relatives
and can receive only two 2-kilo food parcels a year.
Nasta Palazhanka thinks that this is not an exclusive attitude to the political
prisoner, and all prisoners are treated this way in this prison.
Human rights defender Andrei Bandarenka stated that soon Zmitser can be
familiarized with a new criminal case, under Article 411 – malignant insubordination
to the prison administration, as a result of which 1-2 more years of
imprisonment can be added to his 2-year prison term.
