Help us get Ales Bialiatski, FIDH Vice President, released
Ales Bialiatski, FIDH Vice President and President of the Viasna Human
Rights Centre has been detained in Belarus since last August 4.
After lengthy preparation by the Belarus justice department, Ales is
being charged with "especially serious tax evasion" that could lead to
seven years in prison and confiscation of his properties, which involves
the premises of the Viasna centre. The sole aim of this manoeuver is to
stop Viasna from acting, and from existing.
FIDH and its affiliate member, Viasna, which of course will
guarantee Ales’ innocence, is calling for his immediate, unconditional
release.
To begin with, to help us obtain his conditional release, you can
join the hundreds of people who have already given their moral guarantee
by filling in the form below.
To be sure that the public prosecutor acknowledges your completed form, please carefully do the following:
