Vitsebsk authorities keep banning pickets

Vitsebsk pro-democratic activist Khrystafor Zhaliapau says he still hopes to stage a picket of support to Belarusian political prisoners, despite another ban by local executive authorities, www.news.vitebsk.cc reports.

The previous ban was attributed to the extreme business of the city’s police and medical services. This time, the department of internal affairs provided a more direct answer – the police find it inexpedient to maintain public order during the scheduled picket.
