“We will not allow the country of uprisings and conspiracy, the country of democratic opposition and Solidarnosc through the ignorance of a government body throwing into prison the people who are fighting for freedom”, says an open letter by six co-founders of the Solidarnosc Polish independent trade union, as quoted by the Gazeta Wyborcza major newspaper.
The famous trade union activists, including former Polish President Lech Walesa, call upon the Polish Prime Minister to take measures to release Ales Bialiatski.
“Bialiatski is the Polish government’s prisoner of conscience”, says the appeal.
