On 16 August, Young Front leader Zmitser Dashkevich, serving his two-year term for alleged battery, was not allowed seeing his lawyer for a third time this summer, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports, quoting the Young Front’s press-service.
The penal colony’s administration banned the meeting, despite earlier promises by Mahiliou regional prosecuting officials.
Having been unable to see Zmitser Dashkevich for over a month, the lawyer has lodged a number of complaints demanding to report on the prisoner’s health and arrange a meeting with his father in the shortest time possible. During the period, not a single letter from the prisoner has been received by his relatives.
