A number of prosecuting officials linked to the disclosure of Ales Bialiatski’s bank account details have been fired, Polish Prosecutor General Andrzej Seremet said at a special press-conference in Warsaw, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports.
“I hope the dismissals will prevent execution of similar requests and contribute to the clearance of the situation we are now facing”, says Mr. Seremet.
Prosecutor General also said he “deeply regrets what has happened”. According to the high official, Poland received two requests on bank accounts this year, the other being also linked to an opposition activist. However, the Polish General Prosecutor’s Office dismissed the request.
