Natallia Shchukina, a member of the UCP and the initiative group for the
National Assembly was detained on 9 August in Zhukau Street in Homel.
According to Uladzimir Katsora, a
member of the organizing committee for the initiation of the National Assembly
in Homel, she was detained for disseminating information on the preparations
for this forum. Shchukina was taken to the
police department for giving explanations, was seized about 100 leaflets and
then was released.
"The leaflets were allegedly
seized in order to get acquainted with their contents”, – added Mr. Katsora.
