Yauhen Vaskovich in disciplinary cell for refusal to hand in his Bible
Babruisk journalist, convicted for an attempt to set KGB building on fire, has been punished for "breaking internal regime" once again.
Yauhen Vaskovich's grandmothers visited him in the Mahilei correctional
colony this week. Let us remind you, the Babruisker was not present at
the consideration of his appeal in court as he was in the disciplinary
cell then.
"Yauhen told us that he had got to the disciplinary
cell for the second time for refusal to hand in his Bible, — the
prisoner's grandmother Tamara Vaskovich says. — They took away his
books, notebooks, but he refused to hand in the Bible in Belarusian, and
was punished for that. He asked to tell that he was holding on and did
not betray his ideals".
The prisoner's mother Rushania Vaskovich
has informed that the youngster and his family decided to fight to the
end and to appeal the sentence in all the higher instances, including
the President's Administration.
