Niasvizhski Chas not sold at state newsstands
At the end of June the editorial office of the private
socio-political newspaper Niasvizhski Chas sent a letter to the state
enterprise Minskablsayuzdruk to propose cooperation. In the beginning of
July the enterprise answered that on 3 January 2011 it finished the campaign on
concluding such agreements with periodicals and doesn't intend to sell the
newspaper this year.
A. Kudreika, director of the enterprise, advised the editorial board of the
newspaper to apply to the enterprise later for concluding an agreement for its
sale in 2012.
“Our edition hasn't been sold at the state newsstands belonging to the Belsayuzdruk
since 2007. We have raised this issue many times and applied to the
authorities, but it is not resolved,” said Aliaksei Bely, chief editor of the
newspaper, to the monitoring service of the Belarusian Association of
Journalists. “However, we keep knocking on the doors so that nobody would say
that the editorial board didn't apply to anyone”.
