On 13 July morning a KGB officer phoned to Ihar Illiash, a journalist
for the private socio-political newspaper Belorusy i Rynok, and told him
to come to the KGB at 2 p.m.
The journalist demanded to be issued with an official summons, and was promised
he would receive it at the entrance. The KGB officer refused to explain the
reason for such “invitation”. However, Mr. Illiash thinks it can be connected
to his professional activities, which include political journalism.
