Mikalai Chartkou, a distributor of the Tut i Zaraz bulletin,
was fined 70,000 rubles under Article 17.1 of the Code of Administrative
Offenses, “disorderly conduct”.
Chartou was detained on 10 July and kept in jail till the trial. Moreover, he
was charged with the illegal distribution of mass media (Article 22.9 of the
CAO).
At the trial that was held on 11 July the activist was tried only under Article
17.1. The charges under Article 22.9 were to have been considered by the court
on 11 July. However, the trial was postponed to 3 p.m. on 18 July due to the
absence of the witnesses.
