Minsk protesters transferred to prison in Zhodzina
According to our information, all people who had been sentenced to arrest for participation in the silent protest actions in Minsk, except for Natallia Bakinouskaya, were transferred from the prison in Akrestsin Street to the prison in the town of Zhodzina, including the five people who were left there after the transfer of the majority of prisoners.
One of the possible reasons – the authorities fear the wave of solidarity which
manifests in long queues and gatherings of civil activists at the entrance of
the prison in Akrestsin Street. At present, 202 protesters are kept in the
Zhodzina prison. Their relatives can pass them only water, clothes and means of
hygiene. Passing food and juices is prohibited. This prohibition is completely
groundless. Meanwhile, the quality of food in the Belarusian prisons is rather
poor.
