On 8 July the Minsk City Court considered
cassation appeals against verdicts to the activists of the anarchist movement Ihar
Alinevich, Miklaia Dziadok and Aliaksandr Frantskevich who had been sentenced
to different times of imprisonment for a number of political actions including
arsons. Two more convicts, Silivonchyk and Vetkin, didn’t file cassation
appeals. Bear in mind that in May 2011 they had pleaded guilty and had given
testimonies against Alinevich, Dziadok and Frantskevich who plead innocent.
The court considered the cassation appeals and left the verdicts standing. Now
the convicts will appeal the verdict at a higher court instance.
