Political prisoner Zmitser Bandarenka transferred to prison in Valadarski Street
On 10 May a political prisoner Zmitser Bandarenka was transferred from the KGB jail into the prison in Valadarski Street.
Charter97.org website has been informed about that by the wife of the politician, Volha Bandarenka. Today she has managed to meet with him in prison.
As said by Volha, the
incarceration conditions in Valadarski
street prison “are better in some aspects, and worse in some others”. Thus,
Zmitser Bandarenka still hasn’t received the required medical aid. His medical
history sheet was left at the KGB, and for the administration of the remand
prison in Valadarski Street
the political prisoner is formally healthy.
Volha Bandarenka has informed that in case the cassation appeal would not be
granted, Zmitser would be sent to the penal colony #15 in Mahiliou.
Bear in mind that the European Belarus
civil campaign coordinator Zmitser Bandarenka has been sentenced to 2 years’
imprisonment in a standard regime colony on false charges of “organizing group
actions blatantly violating public order”. A peaceful rally with many thousands
of participants against rigged election results on 19 December 2010 is meant.
