A year ago, on 18 May, the Barysau police confiscated personal belongings from the apartment of an activist of the civil campaign Speak Truth! Viktar Harbachou, who is in forced emigration now for fear of political persecution and imprisonment.
In 2010, the police confiscated his things in his
absence (only his wife was present in the apartment). However, now they say
they cannot return his belongings because of his absence. Another Barysau
activist of Speak Truth!, Mikhail Vasiliiyeu, another activist of Speak
Truth!, asked them to return the things to Harbachou's wife, because they
had confiscated them from the apartment in her presence. However, the police
haven't done it so far.
