Babruisk police detained four local activists – Volha Pimanava, Taisia Kabanchuk, Halina Smirnova and Maksim Ryzhkevich – as they were distributing leaflets advertising the forthcoming 25 March celebrations.
The activists were taken to local police station, where they were questioned by deputy police chief Siarhei Malisheuski.
“We were told that we had been detained upon a telephone complaint. They must have been expecting some anti-state appeals in the leaflets. However, there was nothing “bad” there”, says Mrs. Pimanava.
As a result, the activists were released. However, they were summoned for a conversation to local public order department.
