On 14 February the police searched the apartment of a
member of the Belarusian Popular Front Mikola Lemianouski. The search was
connected to the recent detention of his daughter, Veranika, who had been
allegedly posting leaflets together with another young activist, Nadzeya
Krapivina.
The search took place in the morning. At first the police wanted to enter the
apartment without a warrant, but the owner didn't let them in. They returned
with a warrant issued by prosecutor Eduard Burak. The search lasted for 90
minutes. As a result the policemen confiscated two system units and some old
newspapers. They were reluctant to give to Lemianouski a copy of the protocol
of the search and did it only after his insistent demands.
