Professor Heorhi Lepin 'questioned as witness'

On 14 February Professor Heorhi Lepin, detained during the protest action of 19 December in Minsk, came to the Kastrychnitski District Police Department of Minsk.

The talk with an investigator lasted for about 90 minutes. The blank which the professor given to sign at its end wasn't a minutes of interrogation, but 'questioning of a witness'. The investigators asked the professor what the presidential candidates had said in their speeches at the 19 December action, who was the first to move away from the Kastrychnitskaya Square and whether there were any calls to go somewhere.

Heorhi Lepin doesn't understand why the police so insistently invited him for the interrogation: at first he received telephone talks with invitations, then he was reminded not to forget to come to the police. After it a policeman also phoned to the address where Lepin's residence is registered (his daughter lives here). The daughter was also told that her father must come to the police.

By the way the professor had bee already interrogated during his stay at the delinquents' isolation center in Akrestsin Street, after his detention on 19 December.
