KGB officers searched the apartment of the journalist from Homel Larysa Shchyrakova on 11 January. She is a member of the Belarusian Association of Journalists and works with a series of non-state media. Shchyrakova informed BelaPAN that they confiscated two PCs, a laptop, a dictaphone, notebooks and about 150 DVDs. According to her, the search was conducted by the KGB representatives Yury Kazarez, Henadz Belkavets, Uladzimir Dubinin and Mikhail Astapenka upon the Minsk public prosecutor's warrant in the framework of the mass disturbances criminal case, instigated in connection with the events in Minsk on 19 December. ‘How can these Minsk events be related to me if I wasn't there? I covered the election campaign, meetings of presidential candidates with Homel inhabitants. This search is e revenge for my professional activity, an attempt to intimidate me’, said the journalist. Larysa has also been summoned to the KGB administration for an interrogation on 12 January.
