Biaroza: election commission makes fools of observers

Siarzhuk Rusetski and Tamara Shchapiotkina were nominated by the local electors as observers at the Biaroza District Election Commission.

The Biaroza District Election Commission granted the request of the observers: they were sent a written notice about the sitting where the materials concerning the verification of the signature sheets in support of the potential candidates would be considered. However, the verification of signatures has been already completed by the commission without holding any official sittings ) ’According to Article 13 of the Electoral Code’, argues the Chairperson of the Biaroza District Election Commission Aliaksandr Nlipovich, ‘a registered observer can attend only sittings of election commissions’.
