Results of formation of precinct commissions in Orsha are concealed
One can call the sitting of the Orsha Town Executive Committee on the
formation of the precinct election commissions a travesty of democracy. The
sitting lasted for just five minutes and was directed by the first Deputy Head
of the executive committee Mikalai Saksonau.
The present members of the executive committee received copies of the draft
decision about the formation of 62 precinct commissions and were proposed to
vote for it, which they did unanimously. No candidacies were announced at the
sitting, and none of the candidacies were voted separately. The information
about the number of nominees and the ways of their nomination to the precinct
commissions wasn’t voiced.
Of course, the information about the number of representatives of the
opposition who were included in the commissions remains secret as well. The
first secretary of the Orsha town organization of the Belarusian Leftist Party Fair World Mikalai Dziamidau, who
attended this ‘sitting’ was advised to receive this information from the local
state-owned newspaper.
