Number of arrests for arsons grows
The ecological activist Uladzimir Valodzin was arrested in Minsk. On 8 September policemen of the Savetski District Police Department searched his flat, confiscated a computer hard drive and leaflets. As stated to the Legal Assistance to Population by his relatives, Uladzimir is suspected in the engagement with the arson of a branch of Belarusbank in Minsk on 30 April 2010.
No other details of the arrest are known so far. We can assume that the events connected to Molotov cocktails, which were thrown at the Russian Embassy on 30 August and at the delinquents' isolation center in Akrestsin Street (where some of the people suspected in the attack on the Russian Embassy were kept) on 6 September caused a reaction on the part of the law machinery that started a hunt on the potential incendiaries.
