Homel police detained Ivan Hamarka, activist of the Havary Praudu civil campaign as he was distributing the Elektrychka newspaper, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports.
The police seized some 100 copies of the newspaper, printed for summer residents, since it had been printed in Russia’s Penza, instead of Belarus.
The police is also going to check whether the newspaper contains appeals for violent change of power or national hatred.
Later, the police seized another 150 copies of the Elektrychka, after searching Ivan Hamarka’s apartment.
