On 15 June, the police searched the car of Aleh Shabetnik, Rechytsa activist of the ‘Havary Praudu’ civil campaign, after they allegedly received an anonymous phone call, claiming that the activist was transporting poachers.
As a result, the police seized the campaign’s leaflets, as well as several copies of the booklet ‘100 Faces of Unemployment’.
The activist says the police violated his right to free dissemination of information, since all the seized materials had the required output data.
Today, on 16 June, Mr. Shabetnik lodged a complaint with head of Homel Regional Department of Internal Affairs, urging the official to find the seizure illegal and recover the illegally confiscated printed materials.
