Homel human rights activists Leanid Sudalenka and Anatol Paplauny were refused to hold a meeting marking the International Children’s Day on 1 June. The authorities argue that the activists failed to pay the expenses of the police, medical and sanitary services.
The human rights activists say that the authorities’ decision, which limits the opportunities for holding mass events to the only location and requires that the organizers of the event paid the services of the police, medical and sanitary services during the event, is an outrage against the Constitutional guarantees for holding peaceful assemblies and the international commitments of the country.
