There is no information on the incomes of the pro-state candidates, running for the Krychau District Council, says Siarhei Niarouny, editor-in-chief of the ‘Volny horad’ local independent newspaper, who is also running for both the district and the regional councils.

‘Today, Mikalai Herdzei, running for the Mahiliou Regional Council and the Krychau District Council, visited a number of polling stations, located within his constituency and noted that there was still no information on the incomes of the pro-government candidates, running for the Regional Council. The fact is also confirmed by the pro-democratic activist Uladzimir Kudrautsau, who also inspected constituency #11.

Siarhei Niarouny stresses that neither the general information posters nor the state-owned district newspaper ‘Krychauskaye zhytstsio’ have any information on their incomes.

‘The complaint against the violations submitted by Mikalai Herdzei to the local prosecutor’s office was redirected to the constituency election commission. Its secretary Natallia Piatrova said they would not print any data on the candidate’s incomes, since all the necessary information can be found in the posters at polling stations,’ said the candidate.

The pro-democratic candidates addressed the Mahiliou Regional Election Commission with a statement. The Commission’s secretary Liudmila Makaranka suggested recording the violations and sending them to her by fax.

‘That is what we are doing now. We have discovered at least six pro-state candidates, holding state offices, whose incomes are simply concealed, whatever the constituency election commission’s secretary Natallia Piatrova could say.’
