Car of human rights activist robbed
A human rights activist Alena Tankachova does not exclude that the car had been forced opened with the aim of a search.
Alena Tankachova, the chairperson of "Legal technologies development foundation" told to Radio Svaboda that on April 15 in the night the unkown broke the window in her car. Her personal tings were stolen from the car.
Investigators told robbers were in gloves. A criminal case was opened related to the fact of the theft.
"It is highly possible that a real aim of the unkown was not a theft, but a search of the car. I do not exclude that these actions took place to exert pressure on me as a human rights activist," Alena Tankachova said.
"Recently I was an initiator of the negotiation process with representatives of law-enforcement agencies in the run-up to mass rallies, and a member of an initiative group of experts who have given a negative evaluation to the prospects of the nuclear power plant construction. Other members of the group also feel pressure," the human rights activist explained.
