Babruisk: Viachaslau Sheleh appeals against the registration denial

Viachaslau Sheleh, a member of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party, lodged a complaint with the Mahiliou regional court against the decision of the Babruisk town election commission to deny him registration as a candidate for deputy. The case will be tried this week.

Bear in mind that Mr. Sheleh has twice passed documents for registration as a deputy for the town and the regional Councils of Deputies, but was registered only as a candidate or the regional council, as the Babruisk town election commission allegedly found some invalid signatures in his signature sheets.

On 1 April Sheleh’s complaint against the registration denial was considered by the Mahiliou regional election commission, which ruled it shouldn’t be granted. In his lawsuit to the regional court Mr. Sheleh asks to review the decision of the town election commission and register him as a candidate for the Babruisk town Council of Deputies.
