Vitsebsk region: canvassing opportunities restricted
Analysts say canvassing opportunities in Vitsebsk region are considerably restricted after local state-owned mass media published official decisions by executive committees of different levels.
Hlybokaye district executive committee restricted using lamp-poles, doors, windows, walls and fences for placing election posters or leaflets on them.
Haradok district executive committee banned placing election canvassing aids elsewhere but on public information stands, shops walls and windows and governmental buildings.
Chashniki district executive committee limited canvassing locations to a few streets in the district’s towns, as well as the local railway station and shops.
Similar decisions were taken by local authorities of Miory and Dzisna districts.
Using other locations will be prosecuted under civil proceedings.
