Natallia Radzina, editor-in-chief of the charter97.org major opposition web-site, lodged a complaint with Minsk Leninski Prosecutor’s Office against a number of illegal searches and confiscations carried out by the law enforcement agencies on 16 March.
As a result of the search at the Charter-97 office 8 personal computers were seized and Mrs. Radzina herself was hit on the eye by a man in civilian clothes. The journalist argues that the search was carried out with flagrant violations of legal procedures, since the policemen entered the office by breaking the door, having a search warrant. Besides, the seized PCs were not registered on the search records.
