Criminal case against Volha Siianava to be investigated by Tsentralny district procuracy of Minsk
Resident of Babruisk Volha Siianava, activist of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party, was served a writ to come to the Minsk KGB department on 9 March, 'without personal belongings'. During this election campaign Volha is a member of the initiative group of her mother who is running for the Babruisk town Soviet of Deputies. At first the Babruisk KGB offered the girl to collaborate with them. When she refused, they instigated a criminal case for fraud.
This time the KGB workers asked her about the information at the web-site Belarusian Partizan. 'This time they asked me about the web-site only, not about the Belarusian Christian Democracy. They asked why the information appeared at the website and who I was talking to. I answered taht I told about my pressurization by the KGB to everyone. They said that all information about me that was published in the media was libel,' Volha said.
She was also informed that the criminal case against her would be investigated by the Tsentralny district procuracy of Minsk. 'I will know more details on 15 March, but this criminal case frightened me quite a lot. I am accused of having illegally seized a huge sum of money. They have witnesses and documents. When I saw the case materials, I was very surprised and frightened,' commented the activist.
